Workshops

Western Health offers a variety of tailored clinical skills and careers workshops for junior doctors in all training pathways.

Our workshops include:

  • US Guided IV Cannulation
  • Suturing
  • Implanon Insertion
  • Plastering
  • Basic & Advanced Life Support
  • Managing MET Calls

 

Simulation

Our rapidly growing HMO simulation program, as well as unit specific programs, provide general and specialty simulation training opportunities.

Simulation occurs both in-situ on the wards and in our state-of-the-art simulation centre.

Opportunities to participate include our Deteriorating Patient Simulation program for interns and medical HMOs, as well as regular unit specific simulation in ED, Anaesthetics, Paediatrics, and other units.

 

Career Planning

The Medical Education Unit runs a series of annual workshops to assist junior medical staff with their career planning and progression. These workshops are complemented by further sessions run by various departments covering specific training pathways. These workshops and sessions include:

  • CV and cover letters
  • Interview skills
  • Career pathways and planning
