Medical Workforce Unit

The Medical Workforce Unit (MWU) is a part of the Medical Services Division and has responsibility for the recruitment, rostering and other administrative functions supporting the needs of the junior medical and senior medical workforce, as well as the clinical divisions at Western Health. The unit oversees these functions for over 1600 medical staff across all Western Health’s hospital campuses and services. 

Areas of support for JMS include:

  • JMS recruitment
  • Onboarding and orientation
  • Rosters and rotation preferences
  • Leave applications
  • Leave cover allocations
  • Timesheet and pay issues

 

The MWU team is available 8am-4.30pm on work days, and on-call for unanticipated leave and weekend roster issues from 7am-3.30pm on Saturday and Sunday. After hours, please contact the site Afterhours Co-Ordinator as well as your unit for unanticipated leave issues. To see the Medical Workforce Team click here

MWU works closely with the Medical Education team to provide support, advice and guidance for all JMS at Western Health.
