Registrar wins Paediatric exam medal

Dr Alison Boast, Western Health Paediatric Registrar, has been awarded the national RACP Exam Medal in Paediatrics for 2019.

The Medal is awarded to the trainee with the highest combined score in the RACP Written and Clinical Examinations in Paediatrics & Child Health.

Alison has worked at Sunshine Hospital during 2 of the 3 years of her basic training, in the emergency department, children’s ward, and neonatal intensive care unit.

“The senior registrars and consultants at Sunshine run a great program of tutorials and case practice that was really instrumental in helping us prepare for the exams. The medal is definitely a testament to the supportive and teaching culture at Western Health, as well as the generosity of families giving up their time to support our learning. It’s great to be back at Sunshine again this year as an advanced trainee, working in the new Joan Kirner Women’s & Children’s Hospital for the first time.”

Well done Alison – something to ‘boast’ about.
